Watch New York City Pride March Live Online

For the first time in its 48-year history, the NYC Pride March will be broadcast on TV by local New York ABC affiliate, WABC-TV, Channel 7. ABC7 will also carry a live stream on their website for everyone outside of the New York area.

The theme of the Pride March this year is "We Are Proud", which is calling on the LGBT community to stand stronger than ever before and rise up to the challenge of the current political climate. Kicking off this year's march are resistance contingents such as "Gays Against Guns", "Act Up" and "Rise and Resist".

In this super-charged political climate, there is a resistance group that plans to demonstrate and force a stoppage of the NYC Pride March to protest corporate sponsorship and what they say is a lack of inclusion. According to the Advocate, the group Hoods4Justice is planning an action during the parade and notes there are ties to the group "No Justice, No Pride" that performed a similar action during the Capital Pride Parade in Washington, DC earlier this month.

The Grand Marshals of this year's celebration include:

  • The American Civil Liberties Union
  • Brooke Guinan
  • Krishna Stone
  • Geng Le

The parade steps off at Noon from 36th Street & Fifth Avenue, which is when the live stream is also scheduled to begin. The end of the parade is at Christopher and Greenwich Streets.
