Mike Shinoda Breaks Silence On Chester Bennington’s Suicide

Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda was shocked along with the rest of the world by the horrific news that frontman and vocalist Chester Bennington had died from a suicide by hanging.

TMZ broke the story and to dispute media outlets who were reporting that it was a hoax, Shinoda took to Twitter to confirm the tragedy.

“Shocked and heartbroken, but it’s true,” Shinoda tweeted. “An official statement will come out as soon as we have one,” he continued. Shinoda and Bennington have been bandmates since 1999 and their 2003 album Meteroa shot the band to superstardom.

Bennington was 41 years old. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.

Rest in peace.
