The Florida Board of Education voted to expand the state’s “Don’t Say Gay” rules from kindergarten to 3rd now all the way through 12th grade. Opponents and protestors of the bill had predicted the move last year even though legislators said they would not. The bill prevents any mention of same-sex relationships in education and silences teachers from addressing any such relationship in the course of the school day.

Also in Florida, the new governor-appointed board that oversees the district where Walt Disney World operates has passed a resolution they say gives them “superior” authority over the resolution Disney signed giving them the power from the district before the Governor dissolved the old board, because Disney spoke out against the Don’t Say Gay law. It’s unclear if this resolution nullifies the prior agreement.

Republicans in the House of Representatives voted down party lines 219-203 to bar trans girls and women from playing in female sports. The bill would not likely pass the Democratic-controlled Senate and the White House announced they would veto even if it did.
