The Pride Alliance of the Treasure Coast in Port St. Lucie Florida, celebrating PRIDEFEST April 22nd has cancelled their Pride Parade and modified other events to ensure they are only for people 21 and older due to the passing of the Anti-Drag bill earlier in the week by the Florida legislature. The bill has yet to be signed by the governor, but the pride organization took the unprecedented step to ensure they wouldn’t break the new vaguely worded law intended to prevent drag performances from public venues. This marks the first Pride event in Florida to make changes due to anti-LGBTQ Legislation passed in the state.
Meanwhile in Texas, the State Senate passed a bill that would require the Ten Commandments to be placed in every public school classroom and set aside time for bible reading during the day.
