Jennifer Lopez Talks Possibility Of Playing 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Jennifer Lopez is proving that age ain't nothing but a number with her "It's My Party Tour" in celebration of her 50th birthday. At her rescheduled New York City show on Monday (July 15), which was prompted by the Manhattan blackout, the pop titan spoke with ET about the possibility of another milestone: playing the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

"Yeah, we've thought about the Super Bowl and that it's in Miami is a big deal but we'll see," Lopez told the outlet. "They make their own decisions over there." If the entertainer is indeed selected as the performer for the football showdown, it'll be a fitting booking as it's scheduled to take place in Miami. Not only did her fiancé Alex Rodriguez grow up in the 305, but she and A-Rod share a residence there. Lopez's current trek is even set to end in the city with three consecutive dates at the American Airlines Arena in Miami from July 25 - 27.

Despite the huge audience that the Super Bowl halftime show draws, many artists like Pink and Rihanna reportedly turned down invites to perform at this year's show. While negotiations for the former took too long, the latter declined the offer to headline the show because she supports Colin Kaepernick. "The NFL and CBS really wanted Rihanna to be next year's performer in Atlanta," the insider revealed in October 2018. "They offered it to her, but she said no because of the kneeling controversy. She doesn’t agree with the NFL's stance." As you know, Kaepernick was the first NFL player to kneel during the National Anthem in protest of police brutality and racial injustice.

In the meantime, you can catch Lopez in all her glory in the first trailer for Hustlers, which opens in theaters on September 13.
