Staind & Godsmack Singers Team Up For Drive-In Tour

Staind and Godsmack are coming to a drive-in near you.

As per a new announcement, Danny Wimmer Presents has shared news of "The American Drive-In Tour" featuring Aaron Lewis of Staind and Sully Erna of Godsmack. The acoustic-based venture, which will see them churn out hits and covers, will kick off on October 1 at the Starlite Drive-In in Wichita, Kansas. It’ll be followed by stops in Iowa, Wisconsin, Ohio and Illinois, before finishing on November 1 with a set at the Del Mar Fairgrounds in Southern California. "Sully and I have been friends for 25 years. We’ve been talking about doing something for the last 10 years," Lewis said in a press release. "The time has finally come. I couldn’t be more excited to be bringing this to you in such strange times."

Meanwhile, Erna made mention to rarity of their colliding worlds in his statement, saying, "Me and Aaron Lewis? Onstage together...acoustic? Do I need to say more? Just don’t miss it! It may never happen again."

Tour producers Danny Wimmer Presents has worked closely with both acts and accompanying venues to create a live concert set-up that tailors to social distancing protocol amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Some of the trek's venues will feature patrons in or adjacent to their vehicles. Other sets will include "pods" or tables for up to four attendees.
