A new biopic is on the way about Madonna. Universal Pictures confirmed the news in a press conference earlier today and none other than the Material Girl herself will be the film's director. The 62-year-old superstar is also co-writing the screenplay with Oscar-winning writer Diablo Cody. Madonna discussed the film in a lengthy Instagram live event.
Madonna confirmed that although she is the only one who can tell her story she doesn't actually plan on portraying herself in the movie. The rumor mill suspects that Emmy-winning Ozark actress Julia Garner may be up for the role after they noticed both Madonna and her manager Guy Oseary followed the 26-year-old star on Instagram.
Madonna noted during her Instagram event, "It's not a musical, but there's a lot of music and there's a lot of the actress who will play me singing my songs, but in places where she's supposed to be singing," Madonna explained.
