Today, I had the chance to speak with Sarah Kate Ellis, CEO and President of GLAAD, about a partnership with VoteAmerica and their effort to bring out the LGBTQ vote this election with a virtual event called "Out To Vote".
Tonight at 4pm PT / 7pm ET, special guests including the President's own niece Mary Trump will join Sarah Kate to speak about the importance of voting, especially among the LGBTQ community. According to Sarah Kate, 1 in 5 LGBTQ persons are not registered to vote and that would have been enough to sway the election in 2016. "There's only one thing to focus on...and that is making sure you're voting and you're doing everything to get LGBTQ equality candidates into office," says Sarah Kate.
