This might be one of the most bizarre stories I have ever seen in my entire life. But apparently this 42 year old woman, Cameron Newsom, noticed white spots on her tongue. At that point, her dentist recommended a biopsy which unfortunately revealed she had stage 4 cancer.
For treatment Newsom had three rounds of chemotherapy before oral surgeons removed half of her tongue, IN A NINE AND A HALF HOUR SURGERY!
What did they replace the missing half of her tongue with, you ask? SKIN AND MUSCLE FROM HER THIGH.
Thankfully Cameron is now cancer free, YAYY! She says the weirdest part of her recovery was when “the thigh part” of her tongue started growing leg hair.
I WONDER IF SHE HAS TO SHAVE HER TONGUE.
