Nicki Minaj Announces Album Delay, Scholarship Program & Fall Tour

On Thursday (May 24), Nicki Minaj announced that her much-anticipated QUEEN album's release is being pushed back.

At the 2018 Met Gala, the "Chun-Li" star initially told us that her project was coming rather soon. "This is a big night for me because I just let the world know that my album is coming on June 15 and it's called Queen. And I can't wait," Minaj said on the fashion event's red carpet. As soon as these words spilled out of the MC's mouth, Barbz and Kens everywhere immediately got excited, and began the album release's countdown.

Unfortunately, they're going to have to wait a few more months before QUEEN is here because Minaj just pushed back the album. Instead of dropping on June 15, it'll debut on August 10. She tweeted the shocking news to her followers. Check that out below.

She explained the reason for the delay on Instagram Live. "The album itself I think I want to put out on August 10," Nicki said on her account. "I want to put out my second single, which I'm really, really excited about, and I want to now start an official countdown. I also want to do some things where I invite some of my actual fans to the studio and listen to the album and listen to the songs."

According to KarenCivil.com, Minaj also revealed that she'll be continuing to help pay for fans' tuitions like she did last year with a scholarship program. On May 24, she'll be offering lucky followers $50,000 for college expenses. "Minaj reiterated that her planned tour will not be pushed back and will launch at the end of September after her new documentary is released in July," the outlet also added.
