Wisconsin Gay Couple Wins Their Battle To Keep Gay Flag Over Apartment

Despite being ordered by their landlord to remove a rainbow Pride flag from their property, Kevin Kollman and Merle Malterer of Oak Creek Wisconsin have won their case and have been allowed to keep their flag waving high, as per NBC News.

According to NewNowNext, the couple received a note from the property owner on March 25, ordering them to remove the symbol of Pride or face eviction from the premises. The landlord reportedly said the request was due to high demand over aesthetic concerns, but local media spotted several other flags waving around the property. "Personally, I feel like we're being kind of singled out here because it’s what it is," Kollman told local news affiliate NBC-2. "It's a symbol of America, it's a symbol of our pride in America being a gay couple here in Oak Creek."

Fortunately, it seems like love does indeed win in the end as the couple has received a new note from their landlord. "The 5-day notice issued to you last week on March 25th has been rescinded. No further action will be taken regarding your flag. Your flag may remain," the note read.
