Ten years after the infamous table flip that put New Jersey on the map, some of the stars are reliving the moment – in a much more musical way this time and with the help of some fabulous drag stars. And in fact, which housewife's dream gig is to be a judge on RPDR?
Recording artists Lovari and Adam Barta -- known for his hit viral collabs such as “Free 2 Be Me” with Patricia Marie (aka Tan Mom) -- and their producer Electropoint, enlisted the help of some of the stars of "Real Housewives of New Jersey" and "Drag Race" to create a music video for their new single “No Day Like Today”.
The video is the directorial debut of Bret Josephs, who fans met last season on the show.
Bret was joined by step-mom Margaret Josephs, hubby JoeBenigno, mom Marge Sr, along with castmateDolores Catania,RuPaul’s Drag Racestar Honey Davenport, NJ socialite Corina Ianculovici, and "Out in the Wild" Bravo podcast star, David Yontef, at Grissini’s Restaurant in Englewood Cliffs this summer to have an actual “real life” luncheon among the friends filmed. However, in lieu of dramatic music and dialogue, the positive song would be the only audio motif. Grissini’s is a real life hangout and hotspot for the housewives, and the music video attempts to relive the magic of the “last supper”, but this time, with a positive twist.
But did any table flipping take place?
According to Margaret Josephs, “Shooting the video was fabulous! I considered everyone at the table my family so it was like a regular Sunday. Though I admit to fan girl'ing over Honey Davenport!”.
She continued, “The reason dinners are so fascinating is because all grievances get hashed out over food and alcohol! Just like when you are with your family you feel your true self and want to clear the air so to speak! So glasses fly through the air along with pasta and your dignity!”
Josephs, who has said previously her dream is to be a guest judge on RuPaul’s Drag Race, was joined by the Ball scene’s (Pose fans anyone?) House of Old Navy’s Tyra Gardner and Princess Grace, as well as Sugga from House of Marciano.
“The whole vibe was great energy, beautiful people, the uplifting #nodayliketoday has a great message we could all use to listen during these crazy times in the world,” said Dolores Catania. “The dinner was mixed with some good friends and some people I have never met before, yet we melted together like one big family. Amazing music and Italian food – what better to bring people together!”
Adam Barta says, “The song has a message that tomorrow is not guaranteed. Stop wondering what life could be... and make it happen. Being it’s the ten year anniversary of RHONJ, I wanted to do something fun to pay tribute. So the video had to match that energy, and that’s what I asked my friends Margaret and Dolores to be part of it, because that’s what they stand for on TV, and in real life.”
The video also features cameos from Vjera Zec, who fans may recognize as “Madonna Arms” from the final season of Orange is the New Black, and celebrity aesthetician Kathleen Stolarz.
