Sam Smith Releases 'I Feel Love' Cover As Anthem For Queer Community

Sam Smith is back with their newest single, “I Feel Love,” and it's the good time disco track your dance parties have been waiting for. If the track name sounds familiar it's because Smith's is a reimagined version of Donna Summer's iconic song by the same name.

Smith first teased the track on Instagram while rocking platform boots, a yellow blazer, and a white fan while yelling, “tomorrow!” Thankfully, tomorrow is finally here and on Friday (November 1) fans got the surprise Smith was teasing. Smith teamed up once again with Disclosure's Guy Lawrence for the new version of the disco classic.

In their Instagram post about the song, the 27-year-old singer shared a candid and personal note about the importance of the song and what it meant to them. “As a queer person ‘I feel love’ has followed me to every dance floor in every queer space from the minute I started clubbing,” Smith wrote. “This song to me is an anthem of our community and it was an honour and most importantly so much fun to have a go at it. Highest song I've ever f****** sang. But a joy. I hope you all like it xx.”

While you may be dancing to Smith's new cover in the club, fans can also hear the song as part of Target's holiday campaign!

Smith is currently working on their third album and recently updated fans from the studio. Over the summer, Smith released “How Do You Sleep?” along with its incredible video where they show off their dancing skills. They also dropped “Dancing With A Stranger” earlier this year with Normani.
