Gay Men's Chorus Of Los Angeles Perform Laura Dern Tribute At Spirit Awards

To say that Laura Dern had a fabulous pre-birthday weekend would be an understatement. On Sunday (February 9), the Hollywood titan scored an Oscar for her vigorous role in Marriage Story and she was also bestowed a more playful honor the night before.

At the 2020 Film Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica, California on Saturday, host Aubrey Plaza spoke about why it's important to see LGBTQ representation in the film industry, but the star was soon overshadowed by a performance from the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, who decided to highlight the "gayest moments in films that you may not have realized were gay." Among some of the references included Jennifer Lopez pole dancing to Fiona Apple in Hustlers and Frank Ocean lending the rights to his song to Waves, but they saved the best for last and that was Dern's performance in Story and her overall talents.

"Did this...really happen? Thank you @GMCLA @filmindependent and @JTfirstman for making me realize how much I need a choir to go everywhere with me!" she tweeted after the performance, adding, the shocked and heart emojis and #SpiritAwards2020." Scroll on below to see the tribute!
