Nine Year Old Asks Pete Buttigieg For Advice Coming Out As Gay

Democratic Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg Holds Town Hall In Denver

At a recent campaign rally, presidential hopeful Pete Buttigieg was met with a poignant question from a nine-year-old spectator named Zachary Ro. Zachary got up on stage and asked "Would you help me tell the world I'm gay, too? I want to be brave like you."

The crowd, encouraged by this young child's question, broke into cheer and applause. Buttigieg responded "I don't think you need a lot of advice from me on bravery, you seem pretty strong." He continued, "It took me a long time to figure out how to even tell my best friend that I was gay, let alone go out there and tell the world. And to see you willing to come to terms with who you are in a room full of thousands of people you never met, that's really something.
