Sia Reminds Us About The Importance Of Self-Love In New Single 'Together'

Sia wants us to remain "Together" amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

On Wednesday (May 20), the pop superstar unleashed a brand-new single called "Together" as part of her upcoming film, which is appropriately titled Music. The track, which clocks in at three minutes, hears the typically masked singer spread the message of self-love atop some peppy production, courtesy of Jack Antonoff and Jesse Shatkin. "Come now set the past on fire/ Stand up raise your face to the skies, my love/ Together, we can take it higher/ Oh, together, we can take it higher," she sings during the chant-like chorus.

"Together" was co-written by the star, as well as Antonoff, and serves as the first single off the film's soundtrack and her as-yet-announced new album. The track is also one of 10 new Sia songs written by the star and featured in the musical. In the accompany music video, film stars Kate Hudson, Maddie Ziegler and Hamilton alum Leslie Odom Jr. offer viewers their best choreography in a one-take performance with enough color and optimism to get you out of that mid-week slump.

Music, which was originally announced at the 2015 Venice Film Festival, marks the singer's directorial debut. She also co-wrote and co-produced the project alongside children's book author Dallas Clayton and producer Vincent Landay, respectively. It's set to hit IMAX theaters later this year.
