Elton John Moves Remaining U.S. Farewell Tour Dates To 2022

Elton John will not perform again in North America until at least 2022.

John had farewell tour dates booked in the U.S. and Canada throughout 2020. The music icon had initially planned to conclude his touring career in 2021, but then the COVID-19 pandemic threw the future of the live event industry into disarray.

"I've been enjoying my time at home with the family while the world navigates its way through the COVID pandemic," John said in a video posted to his social media. "But I really miss being on the road and performing for my beloved fans in my 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.' While the scientists are making great progress, we are making big plans for a return to touring that will allow us to ensure the health and safety of everyone."

The singer and composer assured people that he is staying safe from the virus, and he is "using my downtime to keep myself fighting fit and healthier than ever. I'm raring to go!"

A press release accompanying John's announcement explained that people with tickets for the postponed performances will receive new event information shortly. Original tickets will be honored at the rescheduled performances.

If the pandemic allows, John will restart touring in the fall of 2021 in Europe and the U.K.

John's first 2022 North American tour stop will come Jan. 19 in New Orleans. The tour will wrap up April 28 in Miami, Florida. Get all the rescheduled tour dates below.
