Stylers are sending Harry Styles love after Candace Owens’ controversial tweets about him wearing a dress.
On Saturday (November 14), the conservative commentator evidently took issue with the “Golden” singer’s choice of outfit for his history-making cover spot on Vogue’s upcoming December issue. As it was revealed last week, the magazine unveiled Styles as its first-ever solo male cover star.
As seen in pictures from the photo shoot, the English crooner — whose gender-bending fashion sense has been no secret to those who adore him — opted to wear a Gucci ball gown on the magazine’s cover. No big deal, right? Well, unless you’re Owens, who took to Twitter to low-key emasculate and accuse Styles of promoting “the steady feminization of our men.”
“There is no society that can survive without strong men. The East knows this. In the west, the steady feminization of our men at the same time that Marxism is being taught to our children is not a coincidence,” the political activist tweeted. Calling the imagery “an outright attack,” she concluded, “Bring back manly men.”
As you might imagine, Stylers and celebs were outraged over Owens' divisive remarks — and they made it known on Twitter.
“Harry Styles is plenty manly, because manly is whatever you want it to be, not what some insecure, toxic, woman-hating, homophobic dickheads decided it was hundreds of years ago. He’s 104% perfect,” tweeted Good Place star Jameela Jamil, as actress Olivia Wilde branded Owens “pathetic.”
“Good morning to Harry Styles slaying in a dress on the cover of Vogue and a reminder to wear WHATEVER makes you happy,” one fan tweeted. Another Styler threw some major shade: “Some b—hes out here jealous cuz Harry Styles can f—king SLAY that dress and they can’t.”
