Demi Lovato has a playful new look for the new year.
The “Sorry Not Sorry” singer debuted her new hairstyle on social media over the weekend: a bright pink pixie cut. Lovato made sure to shout out her hairstylist, Amber Maynard Bolt, as she showed off her short new ‘do in a video on Instagram on Sunday (January 10).
In the clip, the 28-year-old wears an animal-print jacket with wide-rimmed clear glasses and neutral makeup while flaunting ruffling through her chopped tresses.
The “I Love Me” star’s latest look comes months after she shaved her long locks for an edgy mohawk back in November 2020. Weeks after appearing at the E! People’s Choice Awards, Lovato switched things up when she cut half of her hair and dyed it platinum blonde. “I did a thing…” she teased at the time, flaunting her bold new look.
“I wanted to go platinum, almost white, and it’s like my hair is so dark, that it literally, this is all it could do yet,” the Disney darling shared. “I have to get it healthier, then I can take it lighter.”
“To me, it was like a spiritual and emotional thing rather than, ‘Oh, I need a new look,’ or whatever,” Lovato continued. “I’ve been putting my hair up in a ponytail for so long, and there’s other reasons that I’ll get into later. I’ve been putting my hair up for so long, I was just over it. Finally, I feel more like myself.”
