Thursday afternoon, chaos struck the Hyatt Ziva Rivieria resort in Cancun where hundreds of gay vacationers were enjoying a trip planned by an LGBTQ travel company when armed men came ashore and shot at alleged drug dealers on the beach. This, according to multiple reports on Twitter including retired NBC executive Mike Sington, a guest at the resort.
Mr. Sington reported that hotel guests ran to their rooms and scattered across the resort upon hearing gunshots. He also reported that one woman was treated for minor injuries after being struck in the head with a firearm. Recounting the scary experience on his Twitter account, Mr. Sington said the resort began to escort everyone to their rooms so that staff can begin the process fo clearing any remaining safety issues.
