The fight between Ron DeSantis and Disney over Florida’s Don’t Say Gay law has escalated to new heights as DeSantis says he will increase taxes at Disney’s Hotels and enact new tolls on the roads leading to Walt Disney World – in an unprecedented move of government retaliation against the First Amendment right to free speech, stemming from Disney’s public comments denouncing the Parent’s Rights In Education Bill that makes it illegal to discuss LGBTQ+ relationships in Grades K through 3 and now being expanded to include up to grade 12.

Noted anti-LGBTQ Justice Clarence Thomas responded to allegations he did not report lavish trips and gifts from a billionaire benefactor as required by law by issuing a statement saying he didn’t know the rules had changed recently but he will follow the guidance in the future. Many democratic lawmakers continue to call for his resignation.
