A children’s book illustrator, Mitchell Watley, was arrested in Juneau, AK for distributing anti-trans leaflets threatening violence against children. The leaflet contained and image of an AR-15 and the trans pride flag with the caption: “Feeling cute, might shoot some children.”
Over the weekend, a supposed white supremacist group unfurled banners on a highway overpass on I-4 in Orlando near Millenia Mall with messages such as “Drag Queens are Pedophiles with AIDS” and “End Abortion Save White Babies”. Local leaders denounced the anonymous group, while state leaders in Florida have remained silent.
According to a new study, LGBTQ+ youth are more than twice as likely to have trouble sleeping than their straight peers. The study blames an increase in bullying and discrimation at school which can spill into home life contributing to the problem.
