Kansas City officials declared it a sanctuary city for anyone seeking gender-affirming care, which is in direct defiance of Missouri lawmakers that had just banned the care for minors. The city said they will not prosecute for fine any person or organization looking for or to provide gender-affirming care.
City officials in Wilton Manors, FL voted to amend the Stonewall Pride Permit to forbid the performance and inclusion of drag performers at next month’s pride event, categorizing it as “adult entertainment”. Dozens of drag queens and community members spoke against the measure at Wilton Manors City Hall, but city officials voted against them anyway. Governor Ron DeSantis has the power to remove city officials if they defy state law.
