For the first time ever, the Progressive Pride Flag was flown off the cupola at The White House as part of President Biden’s Pride Month celebrations. The progress flag contains a triangle featuring color stripes representing the trans and POC communities in addition to the six rainbow colors of Gilbert Baker’s Pride flag. Critics said the flying broke US Flag Code, however, that was disproven because the US Flag still flew high atop the White House, which is the requirement stated in the code. Biden continues to ask Congress to pass the Equality Act.

Country music star Garth Brooks is refusing to join the transphobic Bud Light Boycott at his bar in Nashville. Garth said “I want it to be a place you feel safe in. I want it to be a place that you feel like there are manners and people love one another.” He went on to say that transphobia will not be tolerated at his new bar. Garth has been long-time ally to the LGBTQ+ community.

Iceland has become the latest country to ban controversial gay conversion therapy, going even further than some include trans people specifically. Iceland already recognizes same-sex marriage and allows for an “X” gender marker on official documents such as passports and driver’s licenses.
