Yung Miami shared her thoughts about Sean "Diddy" Combs in a lengthy letter she wrote to the judge before he rules on the mogul's sentence.
On Monday, September 23, The Shade Room posted the character statement that the former City Girl wrote ahead of Combs' sentencing hearing next month. In her letter, the Miami native, born Caresha Brownlee, told Judge Subramanian that she doesn't condone any wrongdoing and can't speak to anything Combs was accused of before their relationship began. Instead, she chose to focus on the person she's known for the past four years.
"I'm writing this letter because I believe it's important for the court to know the side of Sean that isn't always seen or spoken about — the man who poured into others, who gave opportunities, who led by example, and who loved deeply," she wrote. "He helped shape me professionally and personally. He believed in me, pushed me to grow, and taught me how to be a better businesswoman. He helped me find balance between chasing my dreams and being present for my family, because that's what he did — no matter how busy he was, he never missed holidays or special moments with his family."
Yung Miami continued to describe some of her best moments with Combs, including their infamous debut at the 2023 Met Gala and their time feeding the homeless during Thanksgiving in 2022. She also acknowledged how Combs gave her a voice by providing a platform for her hit podcast Caresha, Please, which was an opportunity that "changed the direction of my career."
"In my personal opinion, Sean is not a danger or a threat to the community," she continued. "He is a man of God, someone who uplifts, supports, and inspires those around him to be better mentally, physically, and spiritually... I truly believe that he belongs at home, with his family, the people who mean the most to him and who continue to be his greatest source of purpose and strength. Judge... that's a good man."
Combs was convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act in August. He has been in jail since his arrest in September 2024. The sentencing guidelines for his conviction are no more than 6-to-12 months in prison on each count. After the judge denied him bond both before and after his conviction, the beleaguered mogul and his legal team have been working diligently to overturn the conviction. In their latest request to the judge, Combs' attorneys have asked the judge to give him 14 months in prison with supervised release that requires drug treatment, therapy, and group therapy.
Combs' sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 3.
