Ed Sheeran wrapped up the 2025 iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball Presented By Capital One with a show-stopping performance in New York City fit for the most magical time of the year.
The English singer-songwriter finished out the festive night at Madison Square Garden on Friday (December 12) with a set of some of his biggest hits made "completely live." As he explained to the crowd, Sheeran used a looper pedal to create each of his songs and serve as his own backing band, smacking his acoustic guitar, strumming and controlling the strings to create a specific sound, and building his own layered harmonies.
He demonstrated exactly that with his first two songs "Shivers" and "Azizam," before telling the audience to "lose your voices" singing along for "Perfect," even joking that they could make up their own words if they didn't know the lyrics. As he moved onto "Shape Of You," Sheeran got the crowd to participate in the looping process, singing the melody as he built up the song," while he got them to clap along for his final song of the night, "Bad Habits."

Sheeran recently dropped a 4-track EP of remixed songs originally featured on his 2025 album Play that are collaborative works with artists he met while touring and working in India over the years. While introducing Play (The Remixes), he shared stories behind each of the re-worked tracks and explained why he "loved this collaboration process so much."
The "Sapphire" artist has released eight studio albums in his career so far, but not even death will stop him from gifting fans new music. In September, he revealed he has plans for a posthumous album called Eject. In fact, he's so serious about the project that it's "actually in [his] will" and his wife Cherry Seaborn has the final say of which songs are featured.
Sheeran was one of several artists to take the stage with festive holiday sets at the 2025 iHeartRadio Z100 Jingle Ball, joining other stars like Alex Warren, Reneé Rapp, Conan Gray, Zara Larsson, Jessie Murph, Laufey, MONSTA X, Myles Smith, Nelly and Ravyn Lenae.
To relive the holiday magic, iHeartRadio is partnering with ABC to bring the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball Tour to even more fans across the country, as an exclusive network special will be aired on December 17th and next day on Hulu.
