A couple of newlyweds have a lot to be grateful for after Ed Sheeran surprised them by crashing their wedding.

After Tessa Kindelin and Brendan Harty tied the knot in Chicago on June 27, they partied it up at their reception inside Adler Planetarium. However, thanks to a sneaky request from the bride's brother, Mike Kindelin, the night was made extra special when the English singer-songwriter and DJ Martin Garrix showed up for a performance of their collaboration "Repeat It" as well as other songs like Sheeran's "Perfect," per People.

Mike had sent Garrix a DM ahead of the wedding to see if he could stop by for a quick performance as he had a show not far from the planetarium and Tessa was a big fan. The DJ agreed but kept Sheeran's appearance a surprise. The "Shape of You" singer also had a show earlier that night nearby. The couple spoke to People about the shock of seeing both musicians walk in to the room.

"I saw Martin first and I was over the moon. Then I looked to his right and saw Ed Sheeran singing," Tessa said. "It took me a long second to process that it was really him, and I think I just screamed. I was shocked. I had no idea that Ed Sheeran would be joining Martin."

She added, "Mike suspected Ed might be joining, but he had made sure that part stayed a complete surprise to me. My husband Brendan and I are both huge fans of Ed Sheeran, and our guests went crazy."

Garrix shared a video to Instagram of he and Sheeran showing up to the reception, the guests breaking out into cheers when they saw the pair walk into the room before they started performing.

The newlyweds gushed over their unforgettable night celebrating with friends, family and famous musicians.

"It was the best night of our lives," Tessa said. "We feel so lucky, and we are so grateful to Martin and Ed for putting on the best performance we will ever see. Seeing not one, but two of our all-time favorite artists is a dream come true, but to have that at our wedding, surrounded by our closest family and friends, is something we will cherish forever."
