Menzel will be performing music from her upcoming dance album “Drama Queen,” including the recently released first single “Move.”
Menzel rose to fame for her role as Maureen in the popular Broadway musical Rent. Her career took off when she starred as Broadway’s Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the original Wicked, for which she won the 1982 Tony® Award for Best Actress in a Musical. She was also the voice of Elsa in Disney’s Oscar® winning Frozen and its sequel. The film’s song, “Let It Go,” was voiced by Menzel and became an instant international phenomenon, winning the Oscar® for Best Original Song — where Menzel performed it at the ceremony — and the Grammy® Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media. The track reached #5 on the Billboard Hot 100, making Menzel the first artist with both a Billboard Top 10 hit and a Tony Award for acting. She has also appeared in many other feature films, including the Safdie Brothers’ critically acclaimed Uncut Gems, Disney’s Enchanted and its sequel Disenchanted, and Amazon Studios’ smash hit Cinderella, for which she wrote and sang the song “Dream Girl,” which was shortlisted for the Academy Awards’ Best Song category. This past year she also released the Disney+ documentary Which Way to the Stage?, which followed her along on her journey to headline Madison Square Garden.
Menzel’s prolific recording career includes multiple cast albums and the solo albums: “Still I Can’t Be Still,” “Here,” “I Stand,” “idina,” and “Christmas: A Season of Love,” which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Holiday Albums Chart and landed in the Top 30 on Billboard’s Top 200 charts upon its release.
